Create space ~ All you'll need is a candle, journal and if you desire tarot or oracle cards. And a few quiet moments to yourself. A cup of herbal tea is a lovely accompaniment. If inside, consider opening a window to allow fresh air, nature sounds and the energy from outside to enter.
1. Reflect on your harvest ~ think back onto the months following winter and the seeds you sowed in early spring. What am I proud of? What have I learned, experenced or created. What am I grateful for? If inclined, draw a card from your deck to visit these questions intuitively. Otherwise journal deeply.
2.Honor the challenges too ~ What has this season of growth taught me...what didn't go as I had envisioned. Write down or pull a card for the wisdom you want to take forward into the dark seasons.
3.Restore the Balance ~ Mabon is a time of balance between light and dark. This can symbolize many things...energy, time, resources, perspective, etc. This is an excellent time to analyze what we feel is out of balance with and what needs to be restored. What do I need more of and what can I lessen or release? Take your time and like the other questions pull your cards for a deeper answer and record them in your journal.
4. Release & Welcome ~ Take a deep breath, close your eyes and envision those things being released like brightly colored leaves falling from a tree limb. Name those leaves and write them on a small piece of paper. Tear up and dispose of carefully. Consider now what you would like to shift into this open space for the season ahead. Write these thoughts down too.
5. Closing Ritual ~ Sit quietly within the light of your burning candle. Take time to visualize how you want to move through the Autumn season and the changes you will enjoy! Blow out the candle and take that first step with clarity & intention. Blessed Be ~ Betula
